This year’s retreat features dedicated strategy sessions built around the new NMJL card, breaking down hands, strategy, and approach so players can walk away confident with the latest card. The BIG Card will also be available for anyone who prefers a large-print version at the table.

Play mahjong the way only a beach retreat can offer — with Aqua Mahj available for those who want to bring the game poolside or into the water! And there’s no need to pack a set: we’ll have plenty of mahjong sets on hand for every table, so all you need to bring is yourself.

Meet Your Host: Kari
Kari is the founder of Mahj on the Beach and a South Florida-based mahjong instructor who has taught the game to more than 2,500 players. She recently returned from her own trip to Beaches Turks & Caicos this past May, and fell in love with the resort’s stunning beaches, top-notch hospitality, and laid-back island energy, inspiring her to bring the Mahj on the Beach retreat experience to this very spot. For Kari, mahjong has always been about more than the tiles: it’s a way to connect with loved ones, friends, and new people alike. The game itself is beautiful, but it’s the people around the table that make it so special, and that’s exactly the spirit she brings to every retreat. She can’t wait to welcome mahjers of all levels to the beach for this one-of-a-kind getaway.
