3 Days in Jamaica 3 Sandals and Beaches Resorts
Article written by VibeGetaways Travel Advisor Michelle Plemmons:
Sandals invited a group of travel advisors to Jamaica to celebrate Jamaica’s Independence Day. I had the honor and privilege to represent VibeGetaways. On this 3 night trip, I stayed at Sandals South Coast and visited Sandals Negril and Beaches Negril.

So what does a “work trip” look like when you are a travel agent? It is BUSY, but SO much fun!! We learn, photograph/video, and experience as much as we can so we can better assist clients and speak first hand about the resort. It involves early mornings and late nights, but the absolute best memories and experiences in between.
I stayed in the newly renovated Longbeach Beachfront Club Level Suite with a Balcony Tranquility Soaking Tub. This room was amazing and the views were absolutely breathtaking.

With barely enough time to get unpacked/organized and ready for the evening, I headed to dinner the first night. After dinner, we enjoyed the nighttime entertainment, which was high energy and showcased the culture of Jamaica. The evening ended with fireworks.

The next morning, the alarm was set for 5:00 a.m. so I could walk around the resort and get some photos/videos without people around. Then a quick breakfast before a morning of meetings in the conference room. Thankfully, they fit a lot of content in quickly so we don’t have to spend too much time inside before we head out for resort and room tours.

We had a little free time that afternoon so I sat on the beach, even as the liquid sunshine (as they call rain) came down. With a Bob Marley, a book, and an umbrella covering my lounge chair, it was very relaxing and peaceful. Then headed to dinner and to catch the evening entertainment, which included a show followed by the popular silent disco!

The next day, the shuttle left at 7:30 a.m. for Sandals Negril and Beaches Negril for resort and room tours. It was about a 1.5 hour drive but it went quickly when you have a shuttle of very friendly and chatty travel advisors.
Our first stop was Sandals Negril where we did a resort tour and toured a few different rooms. I had been to Sandals Negril a few years ago on a personal vacation so it was great to re-visit with a travel advisor eye. The stop at the bar was my favorite part where we had the opportunity to learn about some different drinks and then we did a “photo shoot” with the drinks. Once we got the perfect photo, we also got to enjoy the drink.

Then we set off for Beaches Negril, which is a family-friendly resort. Along with the typical resort and room tour, it was great to see the extra focus on kiddos to make it fun for them. As with any of the Sandals Resorts, the Beaches Resorts have very different vibes so it is great to be able to compare to my trip to Beaches Ocho Rios. The rooms were so thought out and some even included bunk beds! There was a playground, waterpark, and Kids Club adding to the fun. The mini golf course was being built so can’t wait to play in a return visit.

After our time at Sandals and Beaches in Negril, we headed back to Sandals South Coast. When we got back, I caught up on a couple of emails before going to a wonderful “cocktail hour” on the beach. Sandals definitely outdid themselves at this event. The entertainment was phenomenal, the space was surrounded by food tables with countless options, and the rum punches were flowing. The event was a huge celebration of Jamaica, the people, and as a thank you for sending guests who help the people in the country from not only the resort workers, but for those working excursions, taxi/shuttle drivers, farmers, etc.

I am a sucker for sunsets and the sunsets were absolutely breathtaking!!! The colors so vivid and it looked so different each night!

I am so grateful for the incredible opportunity to experience different cultures, connect with inspiring people, and enjoy the beauty of the islands. It doesn’t feel like work while I am there but I know it will help me answer client’s questions, provide the best assistance I can, and ensure their getaway is one where they can create their own cherished memories without the stress of planning.
